First Flush of Spring

Even though we have a light dusting of snow in the village this morning there are are signs of Spring in the garden. Tender new shoots are peeping through the soil and branches are filled with tiny buds holding the promise of blooms to come. I can think of no better way of brightening and freshening a room for Spring than with a few pots of chalky white paint and pretty linens flushed with delicate prints in blossom pink. Verdigris

From the deepest Teal green and richest turquoise of Robin's Egg to the palest Duck Egg, Eau de Nil and softest Sea Foam aqua - a serene and tranquil colour palette.

Country Homes of England

From the grand stately homes to the old farmhouses of England, all have one thing in common, a sublime blend of the decorative and the practical. Country traditions and pastimes influence the interior decoration creating inviting, pleasing spaces. Time worn leather armchairs, centuries of polished wood combine with faded tapestries and antique paintings forming a unique patina. Here are a few that have inspired me.
