Christmas is coming!

I'll soon be decking the halls with creamy white roses, frosted snowberries, mercury silver, fresh pine, bay leaves, holly and candles. The table will be set with crisp linens, polished vintage silver, gleaming crystal and fresh sprigs of herbs. With the smell of woodsmoke and crackle of the fire I'll be wishing for snow again this Christmas! Here are a few of my favourite finds and Christmas inspiration.

  3. Just beautiful Glenda... thank you for the inspiration!
I am now looking at all my silver that needs to be polished, and cloudy glass that could do with a wash!
No snow here in Northumberland yet, but the days are getting more chilly.
Have a wonderful time getting ready for Christmas. Abby x

  5. I am sure you can hear me squeal all the way from your glorious farmhouse, fabulous images. The crisp whites and fairytale sparkles are inspired. I have decided as we don't have a log fire, it is candles all the way this year. Your description of Christmas decorating the Glenda way is magical, we need photos!, nay yearn for them. I agree a dusting of snow is all that is required to finish the masterpiece. You have such a gift, a true "if you are going to do anything at all why not make it beautiful" philosophy.

Also I am very remiss for not commenting on your last blog post, words fail me again, my favourite hues all in one post. I could sink into the dreamy loveliness of your images for ever, heart thumpingly wonderful.

Hugs from here as ever x

  16. Oh, Glenda! Such a beautiful post! What simple elegance, combined with coziness!!! Our farm has been chosen to be on the Christmas House Tour this year, and I am taking the cue from these images for my decorating. I will be poring over these photos in the days to come, as I start the Christmas season tomorrow. But today is Thanksgiving! And among the many things I am thankful for this year, is The Paper Mulberry!!!
    Blessings to you and yours,

  39. Absolutely gorgeous pictures, Christmas is such a wonderful time to enjoy decorating, however it is far more inspiring in a colder climate than a hot one.
In Sydney Australia it is hard to get motivated when it is so hot and humid.
Wishing you a wonderful white Christmas Glenda:)

  46. Oh Glenda, yet another gorgeous post...visiting your blog is like opening a particularly beautiful homewares magazine!! I noticed a photo of Waddesdon Manor...one of my favourite places to visit...being only 20 minutes away...last year I visited during the heavy snow to see the French Xmas display and it did not disappoint. The whole day was a magical adventure as I drove home throught thick snow, got stuck, got pulled out by another motorist...and marvelled at the scenery all the way home (doing 15 mph). Waddesdon, with it's twinkling xmas trees looks amazing at this time of year! Robx

  49. Superbly curated Glenda as usual! Our Aussie Chrissie will be so different - the airconditioner on full blast, a big bowl of icy cold prawns with mango salad, semifreddo & a shady tree in the garden to lie down under to have a post-prandial kip. Oh & trying to get all our sons to ditch the flip-flops & wear appropriate footwear for Christmas lunch!
