The romantic interiors of the French Chateau: opulent drapes of finest silk and linens set against rough hewn stone and peeling paint; lavish chandeliers, bare plaster walls, bleached wood and ancient beams, the divine contradictions of the Chateau's charm.

Dear Glenda,
I love this french style!
Have a nice day,
Hugs,
Yvonne
Such restful tones of faded colour. I would love to live in a place hundreds of years old, only needing a few embellishments to make it perfect. I wonder why interior fashion has come full circle to faded grandeur - perhaps a reaction to plastic, nylon and gaudy.
Thank you so much for such lovely messages! I absolutely adore this style of interior and hope to post many more images and ideas soon! Warmest wishes - Glenda
Absolutely stunning Im loving the colour pallettes very calm & elegant. French stle is so beautiful fabulous use of fabrics & textures. very chic
Absolutely gorgeous, and oh so French!! I was waiting with such anticipation! I have my own chateau announcement coming in the next couple of weeks - watch for my tweet..
Thank you, this is truly a marvel.
All the best!
Gorgeous images. The colour in that first Chateau, not quite grey, not quite stone is just heavenly! Love Linda x
ABSOLUTELY DIVINE!!!!
I love that shower!!! What a divine idea!!!
I am running out of adjectives to describe your post !!!!
THANK YOU
You're welcome! It's such a simple idea and very practical if you add a liner to the linen shower curtain. The carved bressummer beam is a great way of combining old and new.
Oh my, those photos are absolutely dreamy!!! I can't decide which one I like best! Thank you for the gorgeous inspiration!
Have a beautiful day.
Sincerely,
Melinda

These interiors are so magical and dreamy. I particularly like the bed shown at the top of the page. Do you think this would be described as a four-poster or a campaign bed?
Anna
Oh me too Anna! I've seen them described as Campaign beds, presumably they were lighter to transport than a wooden four-poster??!!
Glenda these are amazing images, I love it all!
Fighting with our builder at the moment about the bathroom and his "industry standards" and no imagination, he would pale at the lack of conformity in these gorgeous rooms!

The design style via French magazines, books, and copy art is soooo! Me! Trurly I am after this euro-chic French Flea Market style with an English farm house twist to it :)
Thank you so very much for introducing yourself to me! Now I am off to paint some grays :)

Such a beautiful style. Lovely post!
Thank you so much Glenda, for coming over and commenting! I'm very honored to have you "follow" my blog. Mine is not a deco blog, but you know from Pinterest that we share a love for old houses and French Country. And I can't get enough of the types of photos you post! This post resonates with me especially, as I am smitten with this Deleuze chateau. I'm slowly making my way through your old posts on this blog, and It's altogether lovely.
