Farmhouse Harvest

Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year, when the countryside bursts into life and is filled with the most beautiful textures and tones. The soft, low sunlight creates gentle hues of palest golden green, farmhouse reds are rustic of the earth and greys are born of woodsmoke and ash. Wicker, straw, rust and scrubbed wood add texture, whilst the smells of Autumn fill the air now fresh and vibrant with the new season's bounty.

Thank you so much for such lovely compliments! I always feel so rejuvenated at this time of year, the farms around us are buzzing with activity and the slight freshness in the morning is fabulous! I do think the English countryside is at it's best in Autumn and although it is sad to see the end of summer as you say Eliana, I really do feel the excitement of the changing season! Thank you so much for your lovely messages and hugs from an old farmhouse - Glenda xxx

These photos are so warm and inspiring. They remind me of hot apple cider, chilly nights, hayrides, and apples...pies, cobblers, fruit tarts! Now, I am hungry.

Thanks for the taste of autumn, one of two favorite times of the year.

Hello Glenda, I have the same Ian Mankin (image 4) fabric on my kitchen table which goes well with the Farrow and Ball Cooking Apple Green paint on the walls. I think if my home were a season, then it would most certainly be Autumn!
